Standard Excel Dashboard,
Business Week Style

Here's a different way to borrow designs for your Excel
dashboards from Business Week. Use their page designs.

We've long borrowed heavily from Business Week's chart and table designs. This Excel dashboard continues this practice by adapting the web design they used in 2005 at www.BusinessWeek.com. We illustrate the format for McGraw-Hill, which publishes Business Week.

(This link shows a Business Week page design from the early 1990s.)

This style works well for a performance overview. Often, budget information is included in each chart. Here, the data comes from Hoovers.com.

Charley Kyd's e-book, Dashboard Reporting With Excel, explains how you can create dashboards like these for your own company.
